Fulfillment & Happiness
For me wealth consists of 3 areas, being health, happy & fulfilled and financially abundant. This for me translates in working on my health and my physical body, working on my mind and mindset and provide income streams to cover my expenses and more.
The science versus the art.
Working on your health and working on your financial situation can be seen as a science. There is thousands of books, people and courses that are willing to help you to work on these two areas. Which have concrete steps, plans to achieve your goal. They might not all work for you, but it might be a good start. For happiness it is a bit harder, yes there are books and courses available, but the results are harder to measure.
You can measure your health for example by measuring you bodyfat ratio. You can look at you bank account and see how much money you have. But for fulfillment and happiness we need to look inside ourselves.
Working on the art of fulfillment.
What makes me happy, does not necessarily mean that it will make you happy as well. It has to do with personal preferences. This is why we need to look inwards to find out what the things are that make us happy. An easy start is to look at the areas in life that give us energy, where we experience a sense of flow, the moment when time seem to fly. Those things, those activities are probably the things that we enjoy doing.
By knowing when and with which activities we can look closer and try to find out what they mean for us. What makes them that we experience flow? what makes them make time fly? We need to discover wat truly makes us enjoy these moments, when we understand this we will discover more about ourselves.
Notice the little things.
Important to keep in mind is that not everything has to be big and grand. Sometimes the little things in life make all the difference. That one moment where you feel truly loved and connected, that one instance in time. The problem is these moments happen all the time and everywhere, but sometimes we are to distracted to notice them.
So slow down, look around you and notice the little things in life.
